Ramon Lobato
Ramon Lobato is a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University, Melbourne. A media industries researcher, he has a special interest in distribution networks, and how they structure access, discovery and audience experience. Ramon has published four books on this topic including Shadow Economies of Cinema (BFI 2012), Geoblocking and Global Video Culture (INC 2016, with Meese), and Netflix Nations (NYU Press, 2019). With Amanda Lotz, Ramon is co-founder of the Global Internet TV Consortium a research network exploring the impact of multi-territory streaming services on national markets. He is an editorial collective member of Media Industries Journal and an editorial board member of International Journal of Cultural Studies and Journal of Digital Media and Policy.
